  1. So the Conservative Party of Canada had been in power now for the last couple of years. They have the slogan now “Here for Canada.” Their platform now for creating jobs is to have the lower taxes, better trade and through better training. After reading all of the other parties platforms it looks like the conservatives is the strongest for the economy. They are focusing there efforts on the lowering of taxes to the small business which are creating the most jobs for Canadians. The small business sector is the largest growing in Canada and most of the population is employed by the small business sector so that makes sense to me to lower their taxes to create jobs. Also the Conservatives want to eliminate the deficit to Canada by 2015 so this will encourage businesses to hire more people and this will make Canada much stronger. The Harper government has done an alright job coming out of the economic downturn that was the largest since the 1930’s. I think that the Conservative government will be the best choice in selecting a platform that will be the best for the economy and for creating jobs.

  2. To me the most important issue is my security in the future after I graduate, I would want to know if I will be guaranteed all of the provisions that I receive now and mostly a job in my chosen profession. The NDP offers long-term security goals such as health care, affordable housing and lowering household costs, more jobs for Canadians and job creation tax credit. By 2014 the NDP plan to negotiate a new 10yr. health accord with the provinces and territories, which guarantees a continued strong federal contribution. Also they are planning on training 1200 new doctors and 600 nurses within the next ten years where they will start recruiting low-income, rural and aboriginal medical students. The NDP also plan on restoring funding on the Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program and the Affordable Housing Initiative to increase the supply of affordable housing alongside the introduction of Eco-Energy retro profit program to cut heating bills, reducing green house gases and create jobs. They also plan on delivering quality jobs from foreign investors by strengthening the Investment Canada Act through making sure that Canadians receive more jobs rather than foreigners and by also giving the public a voice regarding the effect of the investments on jobs, communities and pension. The NDP also plan on introducing the Job Creation Tax Credit which will help provide $4500 per hire which will bring 200,000 jobs a year and companies or organization that keeps a new employee for a year will receive a retention bonus of $1000.

  3. As a student, my main concern is having a job after I graduate. The Conservative party has listed five key priorities. The first one stated is “creating jobs through training, trade and low taxes.” If they stick by their word, I believe that the Conservative party will be the most successful at creating a strong Canadian economy. By creating new jobs, it will stimulate the economy and boost growth within Canada. This definitely ties into students because we want to make sure that our futures are being accounted for. On another note, hard-work is sometimes overlooked. People who work hard deserve to have a little reimbursement. Lowered taxes will enable struggling families to get back onto their feet.

This party proposes a better economy for you and I because there are no drastic measures to achieve a better a future. The Conservatives have been running the government for quite some time. There is no need to elect a new party but there is always room for improvement. Even with the recession that happened, Canada has been doing very well in comparison to other nations. As long as the deficit is paid off in due time, Canada will be on its way to becoming an even stronger and more powerful country.

  4. Personally I do not like any one platform the best, in my opinion there will always something to fix or improve on, you choose which is most important to you. I like portions of each individual one, I like the conservative idea on focusing on keeping taxes low as well as creating jobs for the Canadian public for the future. From the liberal platform I do enjoy the fact that they are willing to help in terms of paying for education to help prepare youth for more prosperous futures, but i do not like Micheal Ignatiff. I also like how the NPD platform is focusing on the change for the environment. But although none of the platforms will suit me as an individual, I must make an educated vote based on where I live and what will benefit me the most. For this reason I will be voting conservative and for Stephen Harper, his platform is the best option for me. Creating jobs for everyone including kids out of school is very important. As well as keeping taxes low gives us as Albertans advantages when it comes to price. I encourage everyone to get out and vote on May 2nd!

To me the green party's platform is sounding the best to me out of all three platforms. " It focuses on issues and concerns of todays world. Creating new and relevant jobs in a already healthy growing industry. the goal is to achieve efficiency which will bring greater competitiveness and prosperity to fuel entire the Canadian economy. This party's vision is just what canadians need to be inspired to get involved with the smart economy that will work on reducing the deficit. They plan to cut wasteful subsidies this in turn will end the failed strategies of throwing good money away to corporate bail-outs for big business, and subsidies to nuclear and fossil fuels. this is saving more of tax payers money to be invested into renewable energy and other methods to reach maximum energy efficiency. prices set for maintain longterm sustainability and avoid structural deficits. what i like about this party the most is that they do not wait until elections to unveil what we believe in. their vision is available 365 days a year, every year!
I encourage everyone to view the green party proposal and website for my detailed info. remember to vote this may 2!

  6. I believe that the Conservative Party's platform is the best.
The want to create jobs, which in return will help our economy by allowing those people to send money and returning our economy to the high it was before 2006.
Family is very important to me so when they mentioned the Family Tax credit, which will allowing the families to have more disposable income to spend in the economy, and try to make less families living in poverty.
Helping caregivers and seniors, we really need this because the baby boomers are starting to retire and there are more baby boomers, then Gen X and Y.
They have a plan to cut the deficit by 2014/21014 which will make Canada one of the best economy countries in the world, and hopefully become a strong economic country the then USA... we already are.
Making our streets is always a positive thing; no one can argue that especially the children and the elderly, since the baby boomers are retirement, there are more potential scams to be created.
Creaking down on human smuggling is a good thing, now I do believe that Canada needs more immigration to Canada to ensure we always have a vibrant work force, but, human smuggling leads to more crime in Canada. The smugglers charge huge amounts of money to smuggle people in. If they do not repay their debt they will torment, or even injure the family members until the debt is repaid.

  7. In my opinion, the biggest issue I worry about when I graduate is if there is going to be a suitable job for my diploma.
I believe that the Conservative Party's platform is going to be the best possible chance for this for me. They are very strongly opinionated that they are going to create new jobs. This is important to me because in a year, I am going to be looking for a job. Granted, the baby boomers are beginning to retire, but I would love to know that I have job security for when I am done. They talk about training and low taxes for the future. This is important to me because school can teach me the basics, but I am going to need to know the in's and out's of a company. Also, I feel like sometimes someone who puts forth more effort doesn't get the recognition that they deserve. It would be nice to be recognized for a job well done with lower taxes. Every dollar counts now of days.

  8. Its election time in Canada and firstly I think we all should vote. To me personally the Conservative party has the strongest platform when it comes to building economic stability and growth as it gives me satisfaction that I will get a job once I graduate. I like the Conservatives concept of creating jobs through training, trade and lowering taxes as these are the key components that ensure a business success and healthy economy. Also the idea of helping the small business sector is good as that forms a major chunk of our economy and where most of the jobs are. Lowering taxes for small business sector will help them to invest, expand and create more jobs and family tax cuts will make budgeting little easier for everyone. Also eliminating the deficit by 2014-15 is an awesome idea as it will pool more money within our own economy and reduce debt. Their effective trade and infrastructure agenda and strong support for research and development and education loans for students will also help in effective economic growth in the long run. We all know how well Canada did during the time of recession because of effective leadership, sound economic plan and strict regulations. I put my trust into Conservatives as they are all for creating and protecting jobs and they promise a better future for me, my family and all Canadians.

  9. As far as issues that are important to me, I feel that maintaining the relative economic stability that Canada has in the past, is crucially important.. The current government has been doing this quite effectively for the last few years. When im weighing out my options for voting I always look at the leader themselves as a person, but im much more interested in their values and the ideals they represent and the issues they aim to conquer (most importantly reducing unemployment, maintaining economic activity, managing immigration) and maintaining the health of the Canadian economy and its people. For these reasons, I feel the most suitabile party for my issues and the overall benefit of Canada, is the Conservative party

  10. My biggest issue is how to get a good and suitable job when I graduate at college. Each platform gave their best promises to community. However, consider how they can do what they promises is more important than anything else.
In my opinion, I would rather vote for conservative platform because I think they have their strong and powerful position in the government. They come up with some points that they plant and will do for community:
    • Creating jobs through training, trade and low taxes.
    • Supporting families through our Family Tax Cut and more support for seniors and caregivers.
    • Eliminating the deficit by 2014-2015 by controlling spending and cutting waste.
    • Making our streets safe through new laws to protect children and the elderly.
    • Standing on guard for Canada by investing in the development of Canada’s North, cracking down on human smuggling and strengthening the Canadian Armed Forces.
They have shown what issues is Canadian economy is facing with and solutions for each issues that are very understandable and appropriate. First, Canadians need jobs to make money. If people don’t spend money, demand decrease, business close down and lead to economy become worse. Secondly, cut off tax will make people happy and they want to work more and reduce poverty. Children and seniors are 2 targets we need to support. Try to have strong and powerful economic and hopefully the most powerful in North American. With those prospective mentioned above, I believe that conservative platform care a lot of people live standard and how to push up the economy.

  11. The most important issues regarding myself is to have a strong economy, and have lots of job opportunities for students like myself, and to make sure that we create a successful country. To me the only party that makes sense is the Conservatives by FAR. They will create more jobs with the new economic plan, and they will introduce key items such as lowering taxes to small business and they have a clear and concise plan to eliminate the deficit by 2015, they are also introducing things that will help families in need financial aid and keep the tax rate as the same. The NDP and the Liberal parties to me is like doomsday if they get elected in. It will be like doomsday because they are going to create lots of government spending, a higher tax rate which none of us want especially when we are just trying to deal with the recession. Even economists say that if they introduce a higher tax rate it will be worse than the recession and it will just create more problems and more deficit, and on the other hand the liberals want to introduce taxes from a Smartphone tax to an iPod tax, ya I just said an iPod tax like really we don't need more taxes 5% is just fine and until the deficit is gone, then maybe we raise the taxes, but raising it as soon as we get our feet barely out of the recession will be a knockout punch to the country. That is why it only makes sense to me that the Conservatives get my vote and hopefully a majority so we don't have another election in 6 months, have a stable economy, and create more jobs for myself and my fellow students, all the other parties are trying to ruin our country.

  12. After reading each I believe that the Conservative Party is where I stand. They have been able to keep our economy's head above the water in terms of saving money. Since 2003, they have saved 25 billion dollars. Most of that — 17 billion — went into a Sustainability Fund — Alberta’s cash reserves, which they are planning to use to pay off the provinces revenue shortfall. By doing this I feel they can help our economy come out of the recession woes ahead of the others.
They have a plan to bring in more dollars to help fund their plans, and this plan does not involve raising taxes, instead they will be bringing back Alberta Capital Bonds These bonds will offer a competitive rate of return — This way people can invest directly into their future and help build Alberta communities, but most importantly people will know which hospitals, schools and other public projects they are helping to build. Also by not raising taxes there will be more money to be spent elsewhere which will strengthen the cash flow of business that need it.
But most importantly for me is their focus on creating jobs, obviously getting a good job is important when I graduate. But along with this they plan to strengthen our education, because other than the oilsands, Alberta’s greatest natural resource is our generation. They will continue to strengthen education and workforce training. This way we can remain competitive in an increasingly competitive world.

  13. Just like any other student, one of the most important concerns I have is getting a job after I graduate. I believe the only party that can stimulate the economy to generate more jobs is the NDP. They have proposed the "reward the job creators." If companies are given an incentive to hire more people and create more jobs, then it's almost certain that companies will want to create these jobs. The NDP's initiative to becoming more green and improving health care also indirectly stimulates the economy; jobs are created for working towards building a green economy. Also, improving health care would most likely increase job opportunities for more private practices for doctors (administrative and other positions would also be available in these practices).

  14. After reading all of them, the one that stands out to me the most is the Conservative party. The most important thing for me and most canadians is the job creation. In the article it says that one of their main focus is job creation through training, trade, and low taxes. I believe that is really important. Also reducing taxes on hardworking families are promised which is also a plus. We are all concerned about our future, and I think that this will have the best impact on us students for getting jobs after we graduate. The tax plan promises to strengthen financial security of canadian workers, seniors, and families. The NDP and Liberal parties want to raise and introduce new taxes which I don't think will help anything. Conservative is the best choice in my opinion.

  15. In my opinion I believe that the Conservative party will be the best party to govern Canada for the next few years. Their platform focuses on creating jobs through training, trade and tax cuts, this is especially crucial for a post secondary student like me, to make sure that there’s going to be jobs out there when I complete my studies. These new jobs will stimulate the economy by making Canada an ever better place to live and work. Also the lowered taxes will benefit many families who are already on a strict budget due to the recent recession, or families who have always been in a tight position. The lowering of taxes will help these families out to ensure that they are able to put their money to good use now, and in the future. The Conservative’s have been Canada’s #1 choice for government for years and I think they will always have the best choice for Canadians.

  16. I believe that the Conservative platform is going to be the best for me. The most that concerns me is not having a job when I graduate worry. The Conservative party is very strongly opinionated that new jobs will be created. This helps boost the economy growth in Canada. As we can see this benefits the economy in Canada and also the students who needs jobs in the future. I like the idea of lowered taxes; this helps the families who are not doing so well to catch up in society. We shouldn’t be looking at the present but also the future, future for the students, and future for other generations after us. By having these priorities, Canada will slowly do better in the economy.

We will always need something to fix or improve, so why vote for a new party and start from scratch when we can just keep voting for the conservative party because they have been running for quite some time. Having an economy that is stable is important to everyone, by increasing the chance of voting for another party, is a risk of something good happening, or something bad happening. Why should we take that risk at this moment of time? When we can just keep improving on what we have.

  17. The most important thing after I graduate is to find a job, which works with my diploma. I believe that the party that would be the most successful in making the Canadian economy stronger is the Conservatives. Yes they have been in power for a long time, but after reading all the platforms I believe theirs is the strongest. I really like the slogan they have, “Here for Canada.” Also, in their platform they outline five main issues that they plan to use in making the Canadian economy stronger. The first one being, creating jobs and in my eyes this is very important for Canada right now as a lot of people were laid off because of the recession. They plan on creating more jobs through three key things trade, training and low taxes. As next year I will be graduating finding a job when I am done would be really nice, and the Conservatives propose to create these jobs and cut taxes for everyone.
The Conservatives propose to create a better economy for you and I because they have outlined the simple things that need to be done in order to make the economy stronger. As long as the deficit is paid off on time and jobs can be created in the near future Canada will be up and running in no time.

  18. I believe that the best platform is the one belonging to the Conservative’s, the family tax credit is a great way to boost the economy and give a break to those who have been struggling for a long time. They also speak of how they plan to cut the deficit by 2014-2015 which has many advantages as far as furthering Canada’s growth as a nation and country. The Conservative party also has plans to create jobs for Canadian’s using trading and low taxes, which will increase individual spending picking the economy back up, this greatly impacts my decision in voting. The Conservative party has a strong moral basis and plans to keep our country safe, they will do what best for Canada not what’s best for their own interests. The Conservative party is truly “Here for Canada.” Hopefully they will remain in power for a long time to come. VOTE CONSERVATIVE and save another 25 BILLION dollars. Stephen Kamphuis

  19. The most important issue for many students just like me is to have job opportunities after we graduate. With the logo " Here for Canada" from the Conservatives wanting to prove to Canadians that they are here for us and by us meaning everyone in Canada including students and children and elderly's. The Conservatives has 5 main key priorities which are: Creating jobs through training, trade, and low taxes, Supporting families through our Family Tax Cut and more support for seniors and caregivers, Eliminating the deficit by 2014-2015 by controlling spending and cutting waste, Making our streets safe through new laws to protect children and the elderly, Standing on guard for Canada by investing in the development of Canada's North, cracking down on human smuggling and strengthening the Canadian Armed Forces. By creating new jobs it allows new graduates to have opportunities to find a job in the field they went to school and worked hard for. Also by achieving all 5 of these goals the Conservatives would be helping Canada recover and through the recession to make Canada a better and safer place to live in. So therefore I strongly believe that the Conservatives would help us do all these things and I also believe that the Conservatives would create a stronger economy for Canadians and creating more and new jobs is one of the smartest and fastest way of doing so.

  20. I believe that the conservative party has the strongest as well as the best platform for Canada’s economy and for me as a student in business administration. The most important thing to me is for the economy to be at its best so that it will provide jobs for not only me when I graduate but also all of the Canadian workforce. The conservative party has held power in Canada and will continue to do so with their new platform. Their platform strives to bring the economy out of the recession and eliminate the deficit by 2014-2015. One of their five main priorities is to create jobs through trade as well as taxes. Their low tax plan will help businesses to create more jobs and give the economy and the people the boost it needs while other platforms have plans to increase taxes and overall hinder us. Harper and the conservatives have made Canada one of the leading countries to come out of the global recession and his agenda is and will always be “Here for Canada.”

  21. I think the biggest concern that I have is that when I graduate next year would I be able to get a suitable job with my diploma. And having that fear of finding a good job I would vote for conservatives, because they have that strong position in government, and if they are elected once again then they can continue working on their plans to make the economy stronger. If they create jobs through training then people will have more money to spend. Which could mean more money spend on everyday bases will help our businesses grow and increase demand on supplies. Finding a job is important but one key aspect that I liked about conservatives is that lowering taxes, introducing new plans to help families in need of financial assistance, which will help the families who are not doing so well to catch up in society. And The lowering of taxes will help families to ensure that they are able to put their money to good use, and benefit from it.
In conclusion I would vote for conservatives not only they satisfy my needs and also they offered to create a better economy for you and I because they have outlined plans that need to be done in order to make the economy stronger.
